I have very light hair which seems to attract the gnats (or no-see-ums) whenever I'm out walking the dogs. The gnats get in my hair, my eyes, my ears, my nose - I think you get the picture. The high pitch buzzing in my ears drives me crazy. With the net over my head they pretty much ignore me. Every once in a while I can hear one buzzing around me but not for very long. They don't even land on the netting. Now when I get back from our walk I'm relaxed instead of being tense from having to fight off all those nasty gnats.

You might look a little dorky especially if you have no hat underneath but its works great. When those bugs are bitting who cares. It is like stiff screening, only time will tell how many times it can be folded and refolded but cheap enough to replace and light enough to carry in your hiking bag. I like it.
