Amazon.com Product Description Getting your kids to wear a life jacket has never been easier thanks to the Stearns Puddle Jumpers flotation devices. U.S. Coast Guard-approved, the Puddle Jumpers come in several color schemes, including such imagination-spurring designs as the green frog, the orange smile, and the red ladybug. More importantly, the floats aren't just for looks; they're also a great confidence builder for kids who are just learning their way around the water. The patent-pending design allows your child a free range of motion and terrific stability in the water, so your boy or girl can safely float in place, swim in a straight line, or play with friends while you watch contentedly from the side. Relaxing in the water will never be easier or more fun that with the Puddle Jumpers life jacket. The Puddle Jumpers are designed for kids who weigh between 30 and 50 pounds.
Product Description Puddle Jumpers Floatation Device by Stearns. Make the water a fun and safe place for your child! They'll love these kooky characters, while you'll appreciate the peace of mind that comes with knowing your little waterbug is safe. The cool design of Puddle Jumpers takes the old "water wings" concept one step further by attaching arm floaties to a piece that fits over you child's chest, which offers up great stability while also allowing for free range of motion in the water. Finally something that my child doesn't hate in the pool June 14, 2010 A. T. Bennett (NC) This product is wonderful, I have a 2 year old who is small for her age and so we had a problem on our hands. She fit in the baby floats but she didn't want to just sit the whole time, but the swimmies that fit on a child's arm were often too big. We also tried life jackets and the bathing suits with the float pads in the bathing suit most times we just would forgo swimming altogether. I decided to try this and thought "Well here is more money to throw away.", boy was I wrong! This is perfect for my child as I said she is small but this customized to her size and will grow with her, this is not a one season solution it will last. It holds her up without throwing her forward or backward and without having it right up under her chin. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
Awesome! Can't say enugh good things about these.... June 1, 2010 Chloe1498 (NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought 2 puddle jumpers. One for my daughter who is 35lbs and 2.5 years old and one for my son who is almost 4 years old and 30lbs. They worked so well. My kids loved having them on (and trust me my daughter is very finicky) and they had a blast in the pool for hours.
I was so happy when I found a product with such excellent reviews that even though I did not buy them here I had to post a review. I am telling all my friends w/small children about these Puddle Jumpers.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! April 17, 2010 M. Stephenson (Chandler, AZ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought a Puddle Jumpers jacket for our 2 year old after reading all the reviews. I am soooo happy that I did!! We first started off with floaties and then moved on to a life jacket. Both were a waste of money because my son would flip over on his back or face down. After wearing the Puddle Jumper for just a few days in the pool he is so confident now that he's swimming in the deep in "by myself" as he would say and jumping in. Its a miracle because this is all coming from a kid that wouldn't leave the first step on our first day of swimming and when I finally got him off the steps he had a death grip around my neck...I never thought he would be comfortable in the water but sure enough Puddle Jumpers cured him of his fears and he now LOVES swimming so much its a battle to get him out of the water. Although he's not "swimming on his own" this product gives him some independence and he can have fun playing instead of being held all the time. A+++ to the creators, what a wonderful product.
The only floatie to have! April 8, 2010 C. Shockley We've tried every floation device out there and this is the only one to have!
My son is 2 1/2 (26lbs on the small side) and has an independent streak a mile wide. The puddle jumper allows my son the oppurtunity to swim freely: he can bend his arms, he's in the proper swim position, can swim on back, can lean forward to blow bubbles, etc... It's not "tippy" and he is completely comfortable jumping into the pool with it on and he "pops" right up.
I had the stap quite tight on him at first because I assumed it needed to be and I noticed it was chafing his back a tad until I loosened it - I certainly wouldn't recommend it too loose - snug is good - tight is too much!
I won't be traveling to any lake or pool without this!
Safety without the bulk September 24, 2009 Noname 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
It's so nice to finally find a coast guard approved floatation device that is not bulky. It's basically like those floaties the kids wear on their arms, except these are foam with an added pad in front of their chest.
My kids love them. They can move around freely in them. I wasn't sure they could at first glance. That the devices are so cute is a plus.
Good for the pool for kids who can't swim.
UPDATE:
My kids have had this for about a year. They can swim, but hey still enjoy wearing it now and then. I get lots of comments from parents wanting to buy them. It's obvious when you see it in action how comfortable the children are wearing this coastguard approved floatation device. The best thing is they are allowed in public pools that don't allow floaties.
