Backpack Sizing and Load Guide:

Lucky Bums packs are engineered for kids and therefore sized based on torso length. To find your child's torso length, measure the back along the spine from the level of the iliac crest (the top of the hipbones) to the C7 vertebrae (the knobby bone at the base of the neck). Lucky Bum's adjustable shoulder and hip belt straps will enable the necessary fit adjustments after you have selected a suitable pack. A properly fitted hip belt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be snug for maximum carrying efficiency.

When is comes to the backpack load, Lucky Bums recommends that children carry less than 25% of their own body weight in total backpack weight. Lucky Bums packs are engineered with carrying capacity in conjunction with size/torso measurements.

About Lucky Bums:

Lucky Bums was created by husband, wife, parent, and former Colorado ski bum team Jeff and Julie Streeter, when they discovered the gear challenges posed by trying to share their love of the outdoors with their young family. The products available were of shoddy construction or poor design and much of what they wanted simply didn't exist. One day, unable to buy a decent ski training harness for his 18-month-old son, Jeff decided to make one himself. With Julie's help, the technology executive with a chemical engineering degree found himself hand-sewing harnesses in his off hours. The harness design proved to be an instant success. When ski schools began requesting them, the Lucky Bums brand was born.
